Been coming to Caister since it started, and still coming now at the ripe old age of ** answers on a postcard please, I have been a lover of soul music all my life, well at least since KC & The Sunshine released Queen Of Clubs.

My first residency as a DJ many moons ago, Spencer’s Arms Hornchurch, Essex..That place loved soul music, Fri, Sat & Sun so much so that we even arranged a 52 seater coach which took us all to what was then, the biggest all dayer ever The Knebworth Soul Festival, what a day that was, even got to play football with Eddy Grant, After leaving that venue I then landed in East London, the Two Puddings pub Stratford, from Thursday night through to Sunday evening this place was rammed to the rafters it was then a proper soul venue, where I met some wonderful people, we are still mates today after 30 years and they are a part of our soul family who grace Caister with us every year.

I promote my own soul nights as well, up until now two very successful ones, in aid of charity, a very well known Hospice & Clic sergent, a children’s Cancer charity, and I plan to continue doing this as I really enjoy it so watch this space.

I joined the soulconnexion radio team in 2011, wow!!! how the time has flown by, and I must say that this is something I really enjoy, every Sunday night…8.00pm – 10.00pm playing the music that we all at Caister love to hear, the chatroom is always packed and we probably have the daftest people in there every Sunday (you know who you are) after about six months Mr Dave Burton asked me if I was up to doing a slot @ Caister Radio after carefully thinking this over for all of 90 seconds I said yes, be rude not to, so at the moment that is where you will find me, so check your programs when you get here if you fancy listening in.

When I land at Caister, I make a swift B line to the sports bar for the big meet up with friends old and new plus I also have a pint or six with the other DJs normally around 4.00pm so if you fancy joining me this is where I will be, Saturday afternoon as well for the football if I can get seated to watch the best team around, West Ham United … C.O.Y.I .

Right a little bit of info about me then, where do I start, I have silver hair so I shave it all off, have a large belly which I wish I could shave off, been married to my lovely wife Carla for many years, who is now also a big soul music fan thanks to me, I have, wait for it, 7 yes 7 wonderful children. My first love has always been music, I enjoy going out with my family & friends when I get the time, and I also enjoy watching the odd film as well, pretty much run of the mill stuff really ( god I sound boring ) I may have to update this LOL!!!! .

All I can say now is once you arrive at Caister, if it’s your first time, you will be talking about this weekend for ages after the event has finished, and I would be shocked if you didn’t book up for the next one, I can honestly say it’s the friendliest place with the loveliest people you could ever wish to meet, Caister HQ must be doing something right to keep this event going for over 35 years, I hope you have a fantastic weekend people and if you see me at some point over the weekend do say hello, or at least point me in the direction of the bar or my caravan, as I can never find the thing at night ( the caravan ).
